What is The City?
The City is a communication resource designed to lead us into deeper community as we build closer connections and share Christ with others. This web-based tool will help you connect to other people and form stronger relationships in other groups in the church. At the tip of your fingers, you'll be able to send and receive messages about what's going on with your friends in our church family. You can form new groups and respond to invitations from group leaders. You'll enjoy sharing information about what's happening in people's lives and how Christ is working to impact our community.
That's a short list of the opportunities available through The City. In addition, there are Growth tools like the journal to scripture memory to finding service opportunities to help others. These tools are private, but if you want to, you can also share with others the ways in which God is helping you grow. Through The City, you can join others in prayer whenever you want to. When you or someone else in the group posts a prayer request, someone in the group will be notified, urging other people to pray in real time. You can also use the Marketplace to list items you'd like to sell or give away, find a job opportunity, connect with a possible roommate, and much more.
When someone you know is in need, The City makes is easy for you to organize help. Just post a need in your group and let everyone know what they can do to help out. When people respond, they can uupdate the need to indicate which part they will play. You can plan all kinds of events and invite others, from bible studies, to housewarming parties. You can even share events with other groups so that people outside your City can RSVP using their Facebook credentials.
We believe the City will dramatically improve our communication and connection at BridgeWay! We're called to be a city set on a hill (Matthew 5:14) and this tool will give us a big boost in achieving that goal!
